Speaker 1:

Hi, my name is Bridget and this is my podcast, wake Up and Thrive. My intention for this space is to help women around the world live more awake, aligned and truly alive. I believe wholeheartedly that we are designed to live, feel and experience the full range that life has to offer, and in doing so, we can live fully turned on in all areas. My story began with sobriety and has since been an initiation into rediscovering parts of myself that I forgot about or had abandoned. Learning to reclaim all of who I am has been the greatest gift of living awake, and together we will go on a journey of helping you to do the same. You can expect to learn practical tools to help you connect deeper to yourself, your purpose and those in your life. All you need is an open heart and an open mind. So if you're ready, it's time. It's time to wake up and thrive. Hello, welcome back to Wake Up and Thrive and happy 2024. It feels really good to be sitting down and sharing this message today.

Speaker 1:

Today we are going to talk all about what and how do you move through those periods in your life when you want to quit. You want to just quit it all right. What can you do to move through that in a way that is an integrity, with your highest good, your highest self, where you want to go and who you really and ultimately want to be. So I'm going to share that in just a moment, but I want to pause and just say thank you, thank you. If you are a new listener here, please know that your time, energy and attention is not taken for granted here. I'm so freaking grateful that, of the millions of podcasts out there, you somehow landed here and you are listening to my heart, my message, and it just it really does. It really means the world to me. You have no idea, and if you are a recurring listener, you already know I love you. But I'll tell you again I absolutely sincerely love you and I'm always, always rooting for you and want to give just a special shout out to my mama.

Speaker 1:

My mom was my very first listener. She listens to every episode. She almost always messages me right after she listens and she's just such a freaking gift. She has been an entrepreneur like my entire life. She's such a badass, but more than anything, she's just an endless sea of support and she's she's so honest. So I know if this podcast sucked she would tell me to go find a different hobby. I really do believe that she hasn't told me to do that yet.

Speaker 1:

In fact, when I took this little Christmas break that I told you guys I was going to take, and I really spent that time with my family just enjoying the holiday we went skiing, just really really being present and reflecting also on where I want to go with this podcast, and I was pretty, pretty certain I was going to be coming back on to say goodbye to you guys, and my mom is the one that really was like you can't I mean you can, but please don't I really really get something out of it. And you know, to me it was like a huge wake up call that I need to stop focusing on the numbers and the metrics and what I think or what the business podcasting world tells me is a metric for success, and I really need to tune into that one person and that one woman that hits play. That is so desperate to just, you know, feel not so alone in her life. That is so desperate to feel a different perspective, to gain a different perspective, to feel connected in some way to something higher, and for me that's always been my mission with this podcast. That's why it's called Wake Up and Thrive. Like I want you to wake up. I want you to see that what you are focused on right now, that's not working. It's such a small part of the bigger picture and I know I needed people in my life like my mom, and I have a lot of coach, mentor, friends, even some of my clients have been such a great avenue of inspiration for me. But you need that, you need that.

Speaker 1:

And if I can be that for just one person, yes, yes, and if I quit this space, then I'm quitting her and I don't want to quit on her. I really don't, because I really believe, again, you're here for a reason and I want to do my part in fully serving and supporting. And so here we are, here we are and, ironically, what I want to talk to you about today is that, that idea of wanting to quit because I am. I felt that recently and I know I will again. I really do. I know I've talked about it on this podcast. I want to be totally transparent with you always. That is always a goal of mine. So, to make this really short and sweet and easy, I want you to take out a piece of paper, write the word quit down the side of the paper Q-U-I-T I hope that's how you spell it, q-u-i-t and I've created an acronym to really help you determine if quitting is the right thing to do for you in your season of life, in your situation, on your journey.

Speaker 1:

So again, for me it was in relation to the podcasting, but for you it might be a hobby, it might be an event you're trying to host, it might be a change in career, right, maybe you want to step into a new calling, maybe you're writing a book or a blog, or maybe you have a podcast. Maybe it's a relationship, maybe this relationship. You constantly go through the same cycle of like, you're fully in it, this is going to be amazing. And then you know shit hits the fan and you're like I just want to quit, I'm done, I'm over it. Any of you guys can relate. So maybe that's it for you. Or maybe it's the start of a new year.

Speaker 1:

Maybe you created, you decided on new habits and new behaviors and now we're three weeks into the new year and you are frickin' ready to throw in the towel, you're ready to quit, or what is that saying? Don't throw the bathtub out with the baby, or the baby out with the bathtub, or don't throw them both out. I'm going to remember the saying, it's going to drop into my mind, but don't throw them both out. I hope you guys know what I'm trying to say. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. That's what it is. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. And to me, I think oftentimes that's what happens. We go, we go, we go, we commit to being all in and then, just like that, we want to be all out. And so how can you really determine? Because I'm not opposed to quitting I think I had a podcast episode about this, about like when is it time to make a change, when is it time to pivot, and so, yeah, I'm not saying you can never quit, but I know nine times out of 10, most of the time when we want to quit, it's simply because we are letting fear run the show.

Speaker 1:

And I want to help you realign with the truth so that you can find clarity. So Q U, I T. The first one is Q. The first thing you need to really do is quiet the mind and I, I, you can go into the show notes and grab my free guide, which has five of my favorite ways to get into the body. So if you're going to quiet the mind, you have to get into the body. Okay, and I preach about this all the time I talk about it. But the truth, your intuition, your desires, it lives in your body. So you have to quiet the mind and so you can do that in a variety of ways. You can find something that's really powerful for you and quiet the mind. If you struggle to quiet the mind, come to my monthly breathwork session. That is an incredible tool, somatic tool out there that will help you immediately quiet the mind, and when you quiet the mind, you will find clarity, I promise. So get really really still in some way, find a modality that works for you and get really really still. That's the first step.

Speaker 1:

Quiet the mind you is. Uncover where exactly you are out of alignment. This one's really huge for me because, again back to that line, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I think oftentimes, when something's not working whether it's in a relationship or a new routine we're doing, or a new venture, right, podcasting, blogging, whatever it is If it's not working, we just go it's all not working, this, all or nothing, mentality, and that's like classic self sabotage.

Speaker 1:

But if you can actually quiet the mind, slow down and break it into parts, break it up. So for me, for example, I love podcasting, I love speaking, I love impacting people, but there's aspects of it that are just no longer serving me. There are aspects of it that are incredibly frustrating to me. And that's just the technical part of it, the back end part of it, right? So my mentors shout out to the healing couple. I had an interview with them, but they told me in one of their programs I was in, if you know that you're out of alignment, or you feel like you're out of alignment, look at the areas that you can either delete completely, get rid of right, is there a step to this podcasting process that I can just stop doing?

Speaker 1:

Or for you, whatever your process is, or relationship, is there a part of the relationship let's talk about that that you can just stop doing? Maybe you need to let go of an expectation. What can you let go of? What can you delete? Secondly, what can you delegate? That's a big one for me. I'm in the process of thinking about where I can delegate, where I can call in more support, and so for you. Maybe you're having this, this, you know. I just think of all the moms out there who are so frustrated that their husbands are not helping them around the house. Where can you delegate? Where can you call in more support? Do you need to hire a child care? Do you need a cleaning lady? Do you need a meal prepping service? What is it for you? So, what can you delete and let go of? What can you delegate? What can you do differently? What can you do differently? All three of those are going to help you get back into alignment.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and I I'm going to have an expert come on in a few weeks about human design. Human design is something I am so freaking passionate about. It's it's like a personality, one of those personality assessments that you can do. You can do it for free online. It's astrology, spirituality, kind of all mixed, but I am a generator and part of a generator.

Speaker 1:

When I feel frustrated, for me, I used to think it meant okay, time to quit, but it really just means I'm out of alignment. So can you pause and and and don't quit it all. Look at the process. What parts of the process are out of alignment? Cause that's almost always what it is. Or maybe once you quiet the mind, maybe you will determine that no, like, actually, this whole goal that I'm going after, this whole thing I'm trying to create, that's out of alignment and that's fine. But can you actually, can you actually slow down enough to really look at bit by bit, step by step, and see if there's just an aspect of that that's out of alignment?

Speaker 1:

So the third one I is intention over attachment. So you've heard the saying high intention, low attachment. That's what we're talking about. Can you come back to the intention? Right, and for me, the intention. I actually went back and listened to my first episode, my first three episodes, and my intention has always been to reach that one woman, the one woman who feels so alone in her life and unfulfilled and just walking around like is this really all that? There is? Because I've been her, I know. I know what that feels like. I really really do, and I also know how lonely that can be. So if I can continue to think of her, it will make showing up here so much easier. But when I focus on the metrics and the statistics and the numbers and the you know, whatever all the data, I lose, I lose that intention, I lose that momentum and I actually gain a lot more frustration.

Speaker 1:

So, intention over attachment, and then the third or the final one, and the last one is tea, and it is the last one, but it is most certainly not the least important. In fact, I think in some ways it can be the first thing you should do and it can also be the most important aspect of getting you back on track. And it's take it less serious or toss in a little fun, right, pick your flavor, whichever one, they both work. But I think when we're stuck in this cycle whether it's in a relationship or, you know, in my case, in this particular part of my business we can get stuck in this cycle of, and focused on what's not working that we actually forget about. What are the parts that we actually enjoy, what are the parts that we enjoy, and can we turn that dial up a little bit more? Like one of my mentors used to say, if you're going to give airtime to what's not working, can you also give airtime to the parts that you really love, the parts that are really working, and then do more of that, do more of that. So, yeah, that's what's been on my heart, that's what's been, that's what's been on my mind, and I hope this message is serving each and every one of you. If it is serving you Well, actually, let me first do a recap.

Speaker 1:

The recap is when you are on the verge of wanting to quit or you find yourself in this endless cycle of coming back to this place, of always wanting to quit. I want you to follow these four steps, in no particular order. Quiet the mind, because the truth lies in your body, it lies in your heart, it lies in your intuition. Uncover which part is out of alignment. Throw out the all or nothing and really, really sit down and look at the steps of what's going on in this new venture, in this relationship, whatever it is. I is coming back to the intention of why you started your why, and letting go of the attachment of the outcome, of what other people say is a measure of success, and T take it less serious. Can we please all agree to bring back a little bit more fun? So that is what I have for you guys today. I would love it if this message served you, if you would share it on socials and tag me so I can give you a shout out. You can find me at findherwildcoaching. I am also really excited to announce that I am hosting my next virtual breathwork class. It's going to be on January 28th at 4 pm Eastern Standard Time. It's only $27. And this class you guys, I've been doing a lot of breathwork in my time away from podcasting and, in the last month, a lot of in-person, online one-to-one private sessions and group sessions for other facilitators in the space and it's just been freaking phenomenal, like absolutely phenomenal.

Speaker 1:

Women are saying that they feel more alive. They've been searching for this feeling, searching for this feeling. One woman in particular said I've felt calm before, but I haven't. I've been searching to recreate that feeling and I haven't been able to do that in my meditation, in my visualizations, in therapy. And she said I felt it. I felt it for the first time and I can't even remember, and so it's been. It's an absolutely incredible modality. I want every single woman listening to come and try. So you can just click in the show notes, show notes, get registered today. You'll get all the information that you need and I hope to see you there, and I will most definitely see you guys next week because I am most definitely, at least today, not quitting. Okay, sending you so much love. Talk to you soon.
