EP 67- How to Show Up When the State of the World is a Mess
Show Notes Transcript Chapter Markers

The state of the world feels so heavy right now. It can be so hard to go on living your comfortable life and continue to show up when there are families experiencing their absolute worst nightmare right now. So, what do you do?

I struggled with whether or not my words would be received and then I remembered that the work I do at Find Her Wild Coaching is exactly what is lacking in places of war. My purpose is to help remind women who they are learn to let love back in. I truly believe learning to feel and give unconditional love is sometimes the biggest impact you can make on the world at large. It is not trivial, and it does matter. Some of us are called to serve and make an impact on areas far and wide and some of us are called to make an impact in your own home or your own community. I hope my message speaks to whoever it is meant to touch.

If you feel called, you can donate to one of my favorite organizations called Doctor's Without BordersThis organization is just one of many that will be providing medical supplies and services on the ground in Israel. Many of the hospitals have been destroyed so at this time donating money is the biggest need.

Let's Connect.

Speaker 1:

Hi, my name is Bridget and this is my podcast, wake Up and Thrive. My intention for this space is to help women around the world live more awake, aligned and truly alive. I believe wholeheartedly that we are designed to live, feel and experience the full range that life has to offer, and in doing so, we can live fully turned on in all areas. My story began with sobriety and has since been an initiation into rediscovering parts of myself that I forgot about or had abandoned. Learning to reclaim all of who I am has been the greatest gift of living awake, and together we will go on a journey of helping you to do the same. You can expect to learn practical tools to help you connect deeper to yourself, your purpose and those in your life. All you need is an open heart and an open mind. So if you're ready, it's time. It's time to Wake Up and Thrive. Welcome back to another episode of Wake Up and Thrive.

Speaker 1:

Today feels heavy. I don't know if you guys are feeling this too. I am obviously recording this midweek, but, man, it's just like the state of the world, right, the state of the world. There's a lot going on. There is a lot, and for me, living over here in my little bubble, in a beautiful, safe home, working on a business wanting to empower women. I'm just finding myself almost feeling more motivated in a way and I'll explain that in a little bit but more motivated to share and launch this work and then, equally aware of kind of how it's received. Is it inappropriate for me to keep talking about this work? Is it inappropriate for me to put out my offers and share my nice cushy life? And the truth is yes and no right, and so that's what I want to talk about today. I just want to go, I want to give you guys permission. I've actually been told I am a giant permission slip for people to be where they're at, and that's what I want to explore, this in today's episode.

Speaker 1:

How do you still show up for your life when there are people that it is? I mean, it is in. You can't hide from it. It's all over the news. I am somebody I grew up. My dad worked in the news, he worked for ABC News, and so at a very young age I realized what the news is, purposes right, and the news's purpose is not to motivate you. It is to show the evil that exists in this world. It is to promote and produce fear. It is, and so, from a I think it was like middle school, high school I had decided never to watch the news just because of the stories I had heard from my own dad of when he would go across seas and he would have these amazing you know, just uplifting stories and he would come back and none of that would be shown on the news. It was always just the horror.

Speaker 1:

And so I chose intentionally to shut it out because I could not handle it. I took it on. I was losing sleep, it consumed me and maybe many of you guys listening can relate to this. So I'm not inviting you guys to just shut it out and, out of sight, out of mind, pretend like what's going on in the world isn't existing. But what I am saying is this episode. I want it to be permission for you to tune into what's true for you in your heart in this moment, in this season. So what I want to start with just saying is that the more and more I dive into this work and when I say this work I mean connecting back to my body, my heart, my intuition, my true desires, what's true for me, what's alive for me, and when I really can tune in to that, I show up better. I show up better for my family. I show up better in my marriage. I show up better for my work as a nurse, right, the list goes on and on and on. So, in a way, the more that I tune into myself quote unquote selfish reflection the better I am, the more full I am out in the world, the more of an impact I make, and so I see a lot of people on Instagram especially, but just kind of in my own life, listening to the conversations.

Speaker 1:

When something like what is going on in Israel happens, it is earth shattering, it shakes things up. People cannot imagine that this evil exists and it does. It does exist, and so there's this immediate cry for like what can I do? I need to be doing something. I got to do something big, and what I want to say is like, maybe, not, maybe. What you're being really called to do is to truly embody this work. Work on yourself, let love in to your own heart so that you can give it out to your world, the people around you, the people that you interact with on a daily basis. You don't necessarily need to pay thousands of dollars or fly thousands of miles to make an impact, and that's what I want to do.

Speaker 1:

And again, I'm speaking out about this, not in disregard for what's going on. My heart breaks, especially for those women and children that are just living their life one day and all of a sudden, living amongst terror Terror. I cannot even imagine what that feels like for them or for their family, who knows that they're going through that right and they feel helpless and can't do anything. That is real. That is very, very real, and there are a lot of people in this world that feel called to join the military, join big organizations that are doing the work on the grounds in Israel and in lots of places where there's evil and terrorism, and I think that's amazing.

Speaker 1:

I personally feel like my calling and my purpose and my work is to be able to be a clear channel for love, be able to allow love to come into my heart so that I can give it out True love, not like conditional love, not transactional love, like true unconditional love. And I'm not perfect at it, but I do believe that this work makes an impact on countries across the world and I don't know how to articulate that in a better way than to just come on here on my platform and give you permission that if you're feeling called to turn off the news, if you're feeling called to just focus on your family and your own work, that's okay. It really is okay, you guys. I promise you it is okay and actually, in a way, it's more than okay because it is your way of impacting. Some people need to go out. They've got this drive. They're missionaries, they are world leaders, world changers like that's amazing.

Speaker 1:

Where my change is is it's in my community, it's in my family, it's within the women that I connect with through coaching. That's my work, that's my purpose, and my only ask for you guys is to really tune in to your own heart, tune in to what it is that you desire most. And it's not really tuning in to what you desire. It's more tuning in to what you feel called to do, because, the truth is, the call on your heart might not be something you really want, but it is the call and the purpose on your life and your heart.

Speaker 1:

And for me, I know that I make a greater impact in the people around me, in the community around me and, thus far, the world around me, when I am not being bombarded with every little detail of something that is going on in an area of the world that I can't help, I can't touch. It doesn't make me ignorant, it doesn't make me selfish, it makes me honest. It makes me really, really honest to say God, I hate God. Where are you, where are you? We need you and I hate that this is happening in the world. I really, really do, and I'm going to do my part.

Speaker 1:

And my part involves here, right here, where my feet are planted, and with my own heart, because for a really long time I couldn't offer anybody love ever, because it was filled with so much muck, it was filled with so much anger and resentment and overwhelm and anxiety and fear. And because I've been doing my work, I get to now actually feel love within myself and that's the missing piece, you guys. That's the missing piece in every conflict in the entire world, in the past, present or future. That's the missing conflict. People are not in touch with love, like it's as simple and as big as that. But if you are doing the deep work so that you can forgive the people in your life, so that you can work on your own regulation and, yes, create safety inside of yourself so that you can truly feel the love. Therefore, go out and give the love to the people in your community, the people in your sphere of influence, then that is more than OK.

Speaker 1:

And that is my message on this very short episode that, wherever you fall on the line of what do I do, this huge, earth shattering world event is taking place right now and I can't pretend it's not happening. What do I do? Well, the first thing is stop shaming yourself into being someone that you're not. If you are not on this planet to go out and touch people in other countries and cultures right now, that's okay. Other people are, and there are other people that have that burning on their heart and have that call, and I think that is so freaking amazing. And if I can support them financially, if I can support them with prayers, if I could support them in some way with my gifts, I will.

Speaker 1:

But what I see my support looking like right now is to continue to share this work, because this work bridges connection, this work influences love, and that is the whole thing. That is exactly what is missing in the war and the terrorism and the evil that exists. So I am doing my part. It might not look like it because it's just in a small corner of the world, but I am doing my part and you guys get to do yours too, and I just want to give you permission to really tune into whatever that is for you. It's okay, it is more than okay, and I'm encouraging you to lean into that.

Speaker 1:

And maybe your work is to do the work. Maybe that's what you're being called to do. Maybe your heart has become so hardened by life, by trauma, that you can't even let love in. You don't feel it, you just walk around angry and anxious and overwhelmed all the time. If that's you, maybe your work and the best way that you can support the world at large is to commit right here and right now to do your work, to actually learn to get out of your mind, to get into your heart, into your body, to learn to slow down, to learn to feel joy again and pleasure and love, and really I cannot emphasize this enough. This work will change you and it will change the people around you, and when the people around you changes, the world changes you guys. So thank you for listening. Yeah, thank you for listening.

Speaker 1:

I know that this is kind of a triggering topic, but I also really believe that somebody needs to speak out to the people who feel even worse now when they're hearing about this evil and they're like God. I'm like drowning in, like sleepless nights with my baby and my marriage is falling apart, and like that's where I feel like my focus should be, but everyone's telling me to look over here. I just want to give you permission. No, be where your heart is right now. It is making an impact on the world around you. I promise you, even if you will never know the impact as long as you're on earth, I promise you it's making an impact. The more peace, safety and love that you can cultivate within, the more that you can put out around you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now I'm repeating myself. I'm going to stop there. I love you. Thank you for tuning in and, yeah, I would really love to hear your thoughts on this. So please find me on Instagram, send me an email, leave a review. I would love to just sort of engage and interact with you guys. Okay, take care. Thanks for watching.
